This shiny event Tapu Fini was distributed via a serial code to qualified Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon players in Japan who completed at least three battles during the Qualifying Round of Japan Championships 2019 or 2019 International Challenge May on the Pokémon Global Link (PGL) from April 19-22, 2019, with second competition held from May 24-26, 2019. The serial codes sent as personal notifications to eligible players could be used from May 21 to June 28, 2019 and June 11 to July 30, 2019.
Qualified players were posted on the PGL on May 31, 2019 and June 14, 2019, respectively.

This is the very first time shiny Tapu Fini is made available to the game and the only technically legal way to obtain its shiny form so far.
