These event Raikou and Entei were distributed to players via a serial code given away across North America (US: Target [22/04-29/04], Canada - Trainer Club Newsletter, Chile - Microplay, Peru - Masgamers) from April 2 to 29, 2018 to commemorate The Year of Legendary Pokémon, a celebration of Legendary Pokémon throughout the year of 2018.
The code for this event Raikou could only be used in Pokémon Moon, while it can normally be encountered in the Ultra Space Wilds of Pokémon Ultra Sun. The Entei code, on the other hand, could only be used in Pokémon Sun, while it can normally be encountered in the Ultra Space Wilds of Pokémon Ultra Moon.
